CCPCR and St. Joseph’s School Pave Way for Infinite New Beginnings for Girls’ Rights and Equality

The premises of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School were filled with amicable and welcoming ambience as it greeted the newly appointed chairperson of CCPCR, Ms. Shipra Bansal.  The event was in persuasion of the continuation of long term association with CCPCR actively involved in various endeavours undertaken collectively with our school, focusing on child safety and protection.   The day marked the embarking of yet another  wonderful journey which aims to direct various efforts to empower girls’ rights and ensure children’s safety as top priority. In the past years, the school has been working arduously through various programmes and pursuits in collaboration and under the aegis of the CCPCR for voicing Girls’ Rights.

The day began with a whole hearted welcome of the new chairperson by our esteemed Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla. She extended her a token of acknowledgement and gratitude by presenting her a planter. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp to signify the dispelling of negativity and ushering in of optimism and positivity for the future. Thereafter, the honoured guest and other dignitaries were given musical welcome as melodious and heartwarming songs filled the air. The journey of the girls’ crusade working for Girl Power is nothing but a journey of applaud and accomplishment. The various girls involved in the Project took turns to share their experiences, beginning from participating in the Peer Buddy Programme to participating in various marathons, cyclothons, rallies, candle march, mock parliaments and much more to voice women’s rights. The girls also shared how celebrating festivals became much more than a thing of culture and religion but an opportunity for the girls from various backgrounds and ethnicities to bond unite and stand in solidarity for a much larger cause of girls’ equality and upliftment.Carrying the programme  further,  our emotive and talented “Street Rockers” staged a NukkadNatak wherein they satirically mocked the inequalities and injustice prevailing in the society against women.
