St. Joseph’s Bags Prestigious Awards at GIP Award Ceremony

St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh has once again earned the top spot and is in the spotlight for bagging not one but two of the prestigious awards at the Award Ceremony organised by the CCPCR at the Tagore Theatre, for the outstanding endeavours in taking forward the dogma of Girls India Project.

It was a moment of sheer pride and joy when the Best Mentorship Award was conferred upon Principal Ms. Monica Chawla, by the Hon’ble Governor -Shri Banwarilal Purohit, for being the Coordinator of the Arunima Sinha Group (GIP) and guiding and motivating children by leading, inspiring and creating success stories. Ms. Monica Chawla has always been a veritable champion of the cause, and has rendered the responsibility of leading from the forefront most ably, with her commitment to excellence, intelligent planning and focused effort.

Ms. Rani Pal and Ms. Anita Gareja, Co-ordinator and Assistant Coordinator of the Arunima Sinha Group, were also honoured at the ceremony for acknowledging their untiring efforts in organising and carrying forward the ideology of the Girls India Project.

Saanvi Manhas of Class VIII was awarded the Best Performer Parliamentarian and received the Medal for Girls India Ambassador2021, for representing the school on numerous occasions and has carved a niche for herself, often receiving accolades for her Oratory and Creative Skills.

St. Joseph’s was also felicitated with the Best Display Award for showcasing the beautiful work done by the members of the Arunima Sinha Group which includes St Stephens, Sacred Heart, Kundan International School, GMSSS- Dhanas, GMSS- Sector 50, GMHS- Khuda Jassu and GMSSS- Sector 20, Chandigarh. The exhibition was a truly spectacular display of the handicrafts made, as well as all the activities conducted under the Girls India Project which aimed to create awareness about the Rights of the Girl Child. The display was a delightful sight to behold with aesthetically painted Ceramic Plates, Tiles, Coasters and Cups. Also exhibited were the File Covers, Jute bags and Mobile Covers all in bedazzling hues and shades creatively crafted by the students.

The Members of the Management congratulated the entire team on the achievement and motivated them to strive to always put in their best efforts to attain their goals. Principal Ma’am Chawla was also elated at the triumph and said that it gave her immense pleasure to mentor such a wonderful team who work in perfect synchronisation so as to reach the pinnacle of success. She was particularly appreciative of the fact that all the hub schools worked in tandem to reach the common goal of empowering our girls through such an array of activities. Ma’am went on to add that awareness is the only way we can achieve the transformation that is required in society today and thanked everyone associated with the bringing about of such fundamental changes. She especially commended the indisputable endeavours of CCPCR under the inimitable Mrs. Harjinder Kaur and thanked her for making St. Joseph’s a part of the campaign, which is bearing such fruitful results today.
